[Shed Building Monthly] February 06, 2018 |
Shed Building MonthlyIssue 54 - February 2018Hi, Welcome to February….Brrrr It is cold out there ….so I have spent a bit of time this month writing indoors Firstly about using Oriented Strand Board in shed construction . My experience is mainly of UK sheds where OSB is widely used for floors and roofs. However in the US sheet materials such as Smartside are also widely used for cladding sheds as well. Despite my complaints about the cold I did manage to re-roof a small shed using some epdm rubber, kindly supplied by Rubber4roofs. The great thing about epdm is that it remains flexible at low temperatures. However the glue that bonds the roof covering to the roof deck only works at temperatures above 4 degrees C. So you do have to pick a slightly warmer period to bond the roof deck in place. Read more about re-covering a shed roof with epdm rubber More shed projects next month. Focusing particularly on shed repairs. Do you have any damage to your shed that needs repairing at the moment? How was the damage caused? Adverse weather? General wear and tear? Inquiring minds are keen to know. ;-) Just reply to this email to give me your thoughts. Regards John PS. Please forward this e-mail to your friends/family who may be interested in building a shed or even just great shed architecture! |
